What is encryption?

 What is encryption?

Encryption is a method that converts our information/data into a code which becomes difficult to read by a common man or a hacker. In this method, a secret code is generated which hides the true meaning and meaning of our data. That is, it hides the true meaning.

If we understand it in simple words, then keeping our information safe through a secret code is called encryption.

When data is encrypted, not every user can see it. Only that person can see it who has the Encryption Key of this encryption. This encryption key enables the data to be unlocked, read and understood again.

When the data is not encrypted, it is called PlainText and after encryption, it is called CipherText. The entire process of encryption and decryption of data is called Cryptography technology. There are many types of Cryptography technology. With which our data is kept even more secure. With Cryptography Technology, our data is protected from intrusion and integrity.

History of encryption

Encryption originated from the word Cryptus, which is a Greek word. Cryptus means to keep something secret. In earlier times, encryption was hardly used. But as time changed, its use started increasing rapidly.

In earlier times, encryption was done using hieroglyphics, which was very difficult to understand. This word started gaining popularity in 1970. After this, B. Whitefield Diffie and Martin Hellman created Cryptography Paper in 1776, in which they gave detailed information about encryption and decryption.

Earlier, the term encryption was used only by the military or some government institution. But in today's time, its use is increasing in the fast growing technological field. At present, it is being used in many places.

Main components of encryption

•Plaintext

•Ciphertext

•Key

•Encryption Algorithms

How many types of encryption are there?

Generally encryption is of two types:

•Asymmetric Encryption

•Symmetric Encryption

Asymmetric Encryption

In this process there are two encryption keys which are used to encrypt and decrypt the data. In this one key is called private key and the other key is called public key.

While doing encryption the private key is with the user. Whereas the decryption key is made public, which has to be sent to the data or information.

Asymmetric Encryption is also called Public key Encryption and it is the basic technology of SSL technology. It is also used in SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to change http to https in the URL of websites and blogs.

Symmetric Encryption

It is also called Shared Encryption. In this process, the same key is used to encrypt and decrypt data or information. Since the key is the same, at the time of encryption, the user who encrypts the data has to share this encryption key with the person to whom the data is to be sent.

In this Symmetric Encryption, the speed of processing data is faster and performance is better than Asymmetric Encryption. It is used more in Heavy Data Encryption and Payment Applications.

Symmetric Encryption is also of two types:

•Stream Algorithms

•Block Algorithms

How does encryption work?

In the process of encryption, the data is completely changed, which not everyone can understand. To understand this, an encryption key is needed. That is, only the person who has this key can access this data.

Let us understand this through an example:

I want to send a message to my friend and I do not want anyone else to read this message. Therefore, if I encrypt this message and send it, then only he will be able to read this message.

Suppose “Encryption Meaning in Hindi” is my message. After encrypting it, it will become “51432516209151413511491497914891449”. Now its key will be according to the alphabet. Meaning A=1, D=4, Y=25, Z=26

The message can be read using this. Here this key is just for your understanding.  Let us tell you that the encryption algorithm is

very difficult, which not everyone can understand.

What is the feature of encryption?

As in today's time, cases like fraud, cyber attack etc. have increased in large numbers. Therefore, it has become very important for us to keep our data safe. We can keep our data safe with encryption. We can understand the importance and feature of encryption in the following way:

Original Data

Along with keeping our data safe, encryption also takes full care of the originality of the data. In this process, when data is sent from one person to another, there is no change in it. That is, that data or information remains original.

Security

If we have to keep the data of our mobile or computer safe, then encryption technology is very useful for us. With this, we can protect our data / information very well. If you forget your device somewhere and you have used this technology, then your data is very safe.

Privacy

We are very concerned about the privacy of our data and information. But you can get rid of your worries by using this encryption technology. For this, you have to encrypt your data. After this, you will not even need to lock your device and along with the security of your data, its privacy will also be maintained.

What precautions should be taken before encrypting the mobile?

•Encrypting the mobile is very easy and simple. But it is very important to be careful for this. Because if you make a small mistake while encrypting, you may get into a big problem. For this, you should first know this

•Before encrypting the mobile, check how much charge your phone has. Because if the charge is less, then there may be problems. For this, you must keep your mobile at least 50% charged.

You have to select such an encryption which is difficult, which not everyone can know and which you can remember easily.

How to Encrypt Mobile?

For Mobile ko Encrypt Kaise Kare, you have to follow the following steps:

•First of all, open the phone settings of your phone.

•After opening the settings, you will find the option of Security there, open it.

•After reaching the Security Tab, you will see Encryption at the bottom, select it.

•Then there will be some options in front of you, in which you will be asked whether you want to encrypt the phone storage or SD Card Storage?

•Select your option in this.

•After selecting the option, you have to click on Continue. Then you will be asked for the password, it is called Encryption Key.

•After entering the Encryption Key, this process will run for some time and then you will get a notification that your mobile has been completely encrypted.

Benefits of encryption

1. If you encrypt the data of your device, then your data becomes very secure and safe and also avoids theft.

2. This technique is very good for sending our important data safely from one device to another.

3. This technique is very useful for the originality of data.

4. Even if your data gets stolen due to any technical fault, it will not open without the Encryption Key.

5. You can use this technique for the privacy and security of your data.

6. In this technique, your data can only be known by the person to whom you tell your Encryption Key.

Disadvantages of encryption

1. Its biggest disadvantage is that you will not be able to access it without a password.

2. If you forget its encryption key, then it becomes very difficult or impossible to access it again. Due to this, you can also lose your data.

3. After encrypting your device, the speed of your device can also slow down.

4. If you have reset your device, then you will have to encrypt your data again.
